Craft:

I love words and the power they have to move people to action. I have developed internal and external communication strategies for both non-profit and for-profit entities, and thus bring both an emotional and business perspective to the table. I am skilled at connecting with people (stakeholders) through stories – which is the best way to plant a message that lingers.

College:

I received my B.A. in English Literature from Clark Atlanta University and my M.A. in Professional Writing (MAPW) from Kennesaw State University. The English degree helped me hone my analytical skills, and I came out of Clark Atlanta with an interest in feminist literary theory and Southern Literature. My Professional Writing degree prepared me for a more specialized genre of writing: Corporate Writing. In Kennesaw’s MAPW program my primary track was Applied Writing (Corporate and Nonprofit Communications) and my secondary track was creative writing.

Culture:

I believe that culture plays a major role in who I am and the work that I create. I value culture and diversity; because of this, it is easier for me to create communication pieces with other people in mind regardless of how similar or different they are from me. I love to travel and immerse myself in other worlds. And, if I’m ever unsure about which style of communication works for a particular group, I watch, listen and participate when possible. By doing these three things we usually get all of the answers we need.
